| Dilatometry is the method of choice for highly precise measurement of dimension changes to solids at a programmed temperature change and with negligible sample strain. The dilatometer in the FC lab is equipped with a dual pushrods system that enables doing measurements in a dual or a differential mode. The maximum sample temperature is 1150°C, the range of heating rates is 0.001-50 K/min. Measurements could be done in vaccuum, nitrogen or argon atmospheres. Samples of diameters 4,6 and 8 mm and lengths up to 52 mm could be tested. Several reference samples made of Aluminium Oxide are avalable.

| Laser cutting technology enables cutting complex shapes without the need for tooling. During the laser cutting procedure, there is laser beam used to cut different materials like plastic, wood, rubber, etc. The technology also can be used for marking and engraving. The laser cutter is equipped with 60W power laser and a standard 2 inch focusing lens, the average size of a focus point is 0.127mm. High-Power Density-Focusing Optics (HPDFO) lens that gives much smaller focus point (0.025mm) is also available.

Membrane Test System (MTS) (Scribner)
| The 740 MTS is intended for studying new ionomers and solid electrolyte materials. It offers rapid and accurate measurements of membrane resistance and conductivity as a function of temperature, humidity and pressure without a need of catalyzing a membrane and preparing a membrane-electrode assembly. The size of a membrane sample that is necessary for a measurement is 6X30 mm.

| The 850e system is a complete test station for operation and measurement of PEM/DMFC fuel cells. 4 test stations are available in the laboratory. The system can be operated in 5/25/50 A current ranges, maximum load power is 100W. The available cell fixtures are suitable for testing cells with active aresa of 5cm2 and 25 cm2. Three test stations are equipped with a humidifyer bypass for wet/dry testing and with a multygas system for switching between various gases during one test.
